Welcome...

Churches Together in Dorset (CTD) serves as the intermediate ecumenical body for the county of Dorset, encompassing the Boroughs of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. As a recognized partner of Churches Together in England, CTD plays a vital role in promoting Christian unity across denominational lines.

Bringing together a diverse spectrum of Christian traditions—including Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, United Reformed, Pentecostal, Orthodox, and independent fellowships—CTD exists to encourage mutual understanding, collaborative action, and shared witness. It provides a platform where churches can journey together in faith, addressing both local and global challenges through prayer, service, and dialogue

CTD supports numerous initiatives that range from inter-church worship events and community outreach to social justice advocacy and theological reflection. Whether it’s organizing joint prayer gatherings, supporting food banks and refugee ministries, or facilitating conversations around reconciliation and peacebuilding, CTD seeks to embody the message of Christian love and unity throughout the region.

By working together while respecting differences, Churches Together in Dorset strengthens the common mission of the church—to serve, to witness, and to bring hope to the communities of Dorset.

Welcome to Churches Together in Dorset

Through collaboration, mutual support, and shared mission, we aim to make a meaningful impact in our local communities, promoting peace, justice, and hope. Whether you’re a long-standing member or exploring faith for the first time, we warmly welcome you to journey with us in fellowship and shared purpose.

CTD’s mission is to unite churches in a shared journey of faith, acknowledging God’s revelation in Christ and committing to deepen their communion with Christ and with one another. This unity aims to fulfil their mission to proclaim the Gospel through common witness and service in the world, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Events

Churches Together in Dorset - Quiet Day

The Churches Together in Dorset Ecumenical Quiet Day will no longer take place on Saturday, 25th April, 2026, 10am -3pm but at a later date. The theme will be Creation. More information to come.

God With Us - Thy Kingdom Come 2026

This year’s theme, God With Us, focuses on God’s presence in everyday life and His desire to reveal Himself to those who don’t yet know Him.

Over the 11 days, we will explore a different Bible story each day—from Ruth and Gideon to Elijah and the early church waiting for the Holy Spirit—showing God’s transforming presence, power, and love in people and places. Our hope is that, as we pray for five people, they will encounter God’s life-changing love and choose to follow Him.
